On the evening of June 22–23, Ukraine’s air defence forces destroyed 354 of the 368 aerial assets that Russian forces deployed, including 15 missiles and 339 drones.
Nonetheless, debris from intercepted targets fell in 25 areas throughout Kyiv and Kyiv Oblast, and direct impacts were noted in six locations.
Specifics: On June 22, Russian forces unleashed 368 aerial assets beginning at 20:00:
The Russian cities of Kursk, Shatalovo, Orel, Bryansk, Millerovo, and Primorsko-Akhtarsk were the targets of 352 attack UAVs, including Shahed drones and various types of decoy UAVs (up to 160 of which were Shahed drones); 11 Iskander-M/KN-23 ballistic missiles from the Taganrog and Bryansk Oblast regions; and 5 Iskander-K cruise missiles from the Kursk region.
The main target of the attack was the city of Kyiv.
According to preliminary estimates, air defence had intercepted 354 Russian aviation assets as of 9:00, of which 158 were shot down and 196 vanished from radar.
146 UAVs of the Shahed type and others were shot down, while 193 were muted by electronic warfare systems or vanished from radar;
Three Iskander-M/KN-23 ballistic missiles vanished from radar, and seven were shot down;
They intercepted all five of the Iskander-K cruise missiles.
Simultaneously, six places confirmed direct hits from Russian aerial weaponry. 25 distinct locations throughout Kyiv and Kyiv Oblast saw the fall of debris from fallen targets.
Ukrainian aircraft, anti-aircraft missile units, electronic warfare teams, drone units, and mobile fire groups from the defence forces all helped to resist the aerial attack.
